As if I need anymore to chew on, I took 3 more big bites and started 3 guitars this weekend, they are -- 1) Next years RiverFolk offering, an L1GP. Sycamore b&s, Dug fir top, (From BobC) walnut bindings and neck (still to come) -- The Festival director wanted a "Domestic" local flavor guitar, Craig Lavin will be doing the River Folk motif in the headstock. 2) OM-Fs of LS Redwood and a 5A Koa b&s set from Brad Goodman, Brazilian bindings, fretboard (thanks Matt) and Bridge. 3)Finally, my personal Praise and Worship guitar, almost exclusively from wood gifted to me from Brian Hawkins (Beach Tonewoods) for this very purpose - A very nice set of Quilted Mahogany, and an Addy top. What fun, what fun! All the plates were joined this weekend, and every one will be a (spare time) build, save the LS/Koa as that is a commission. What you'all got planned? |

Can't wait to see them, Lance, especially the Praise & Worship! I know they will all be great. I braced the back on my first guitar yesterday, hope to do the top then close the box by the weekend. Waiting for the humidity to go back down. I hope to get humidity control soon. It's crazy here in Arkansas. Last week, daytime humidity was about 45% but every night it was 85%. It should start getting more stabe as we get on into fall. I bring all my parts into the house when I'm not working on them. Ron |

I've got a Brazilian/Addy parlor sitting here waiting on some Snakewood bindings from BobC (just ordered them this morning). It's 12 1/4 wide and will have a period coffin style case to match. So far it seems very responsive to the tap, but it doesn't have a bridge or finish at this point. |

John- was the case inspired by that fella at ASIA? |

No, I must have missed that. I just wanted to make a case that looked right for the guitar. Trying to be very vintage like. |

Here's a pic of the headstock. ![]() Next will be my second personal guitar, flame maple b/s, sitka top (Thanks Jason for that) maccasser headstock, fb, bridge, don't know about the bindings yet, thinking maccasser as well. Looks like I will have my second commission coming around Christmas time. Haven't worked out the specs yet though. |

Just get me the art again. Do you still want original art for your praise and worship guitar? You know I'm up for it. Thanks Craig |

Still getting geared up. #1/2 was donated to the burn barrel last weekend. Too many mistakes and not enough foresight. Quite a bit of wood stickered and waiting on me. By the way, what kind of top would go well on an OM with pear back & sides? |

Hi Lance, I was interested in whether you were going to stain the sycamore wood . If so, what color? I am also building a ooo-12 with Sycamore. I am soon at the decision point as to stain or not. I took a scrap and sprayed some urethane on it. Not impressed with that. It just turned it an amber color. It looked cheap. I would appreciate any suggestions. Walter ![]() |

Lance...It's me again. I forgot to mention in my last post reply that I would like to donate something for your Worship guitar... I have the most beautiful set of bridge pins set you have ever seen. If you would like to have them let me know when you get to that point of your building. You will be very impressed. Thanks, WalterK |
